Hobsonville lashed by tornado, Sirocco to found aid agency

Hobsonville-Whenuapai, Auckland, New Zealand, Dec 6 – The New Zealand city of Auckland was lashed today by a major storm that claimed the lives of three people after a tornado touched down in the suburbs of Hobsonville and Whenuapai. Three people were killed and seven injured after the tornado struck around 1pm NZDT this afternoon. Power poles and trees were ripped out of the ground and houses extensively damaged, especially along the Hobsonville street of Wallingford Way, which saw every house in the street damaged in some form. Eclipse sees Sirocco (almost) go dark

Alston, NCD, Nov 14 – Siroccans today almost saw a total solar eclipse, the first of its kind in Siroccan history, and an event not to occur again until July 22, 2028. In Alston, residents began gathering in the Alston Domain shortly after 10am to witness the eclipse. At around ten minutes past ten, the Institute of Scientific Research unveiled a pinhole projector it had built this morning for the event, to much interest. Alston, NCD, Aug 17 – Alston shivered overnight as temperatures dropped below zero for the first time in memory. Alston residents woke up this morning to blankets of frost across the Alston Domain, Line Park and Mosgiel Green and mist rising from the Garden River. Christchurch, New Zealand, Feb 22 – New Zealand’s second-largest city has been destroyed in a magnitude 6.3 earthquake, with concern being shown for the fate of Zealandia.
