Sirocco hails 2013
Alston, NCD, Jan 1 – Sirocco has welcomed 2013 with a spectacular fireworks show being held near the capital and an air of jubilation with the promise of an outstanding year ahead for the nation.
Siroccan citizens flocked to fireworks destinations across Northland, Auckland and destinations further afield to see in the new year. Near Alston and Minnerichell, a massive fireworks display lit up the skies as thousands cheered in 2013.
Zonian celebrations were much more low-key, with Shogun Nicholas Woode-Smith saying he had played popular video game Assassin’s Creed 3 as 2012 faded into 2013.
Premier Daniel Anderson was present and filmed the fireworks display, albeit with a slightly unfocused picture which he says was unfortunate.
In a statement today, Anderson hailed the new year with enthusiasm and said he hoped that 2013 would be a good year.
“We’ve got a whole year in front of us to do with what we please. 2012 was a brilliant year with massive growth and development for our nation, and I am sure that in 2013 we will consolidate this and become an even greater nation. I wish everyone the very best of luck for 2013 and I hope that when we all look back on this year on January 1, 2014 we shall look back with pride and the satisfaction of a fantastic year.”
Celebrations are continuing into the night in Alston.
