Alston, CA, Dec 17 – Siroccans living the nation’s Northland territory have been urged by the Department of Meteorology to stay inside following the its first issuance of an Extreme Weather Advisory (EWA).
Dark clouds began gathering over Alston around 1pm Sirocco time this afternoon, with thunder beginning sometime around 1:30pm.
Heavy rain began shortly before 2pm, and is currently battering Cambria, Bolton and the Muldoon Protectorate.
While unconfirmed, it is believed that the rest of the Northland provinces and dependencies are currently besieged by the weather.
The weather has been described by one Alston resident as akin to that of Cyclone Bola, which struck New Zealand in 1988.
New Zealand’s meteorological bureau, MetService, issued a severe thunderstorm outlook for eastern Northland for the duration of the day, a measure mirrored by the Department of Meteorology a short time ago.
The weather is expected to lift by this evening.
