Wrythe falls to Midgets
Wrythe, Austenasia, Dec 20 – The Empire of Austenasia has been defeated for the first time in its history today, with Wrythe falling to Midget forces.
At around 5am NZDT, Wrythe was invaded by forces of the Midget-Nation-in-Exile under the command of Midget Fuhrer Thomas. Crown Prince Jonathan ordered the evacuation of civilians from the Imperial Residence and confronted the attackers himself. However he was outnumbered and forced to surrender and name Declan I (of Orly) Emperor of Austenasia alongside Esmond III, who had held the throne since February this year.
The Crown Prince has received criticism over his handling of the situation, which could have been avoided if he had evacuated along with the citizens and made a stand in a more secure location.
As Sirocco has no diplomatic relations with Austenasia, no action can be taken against the new government, however Premier Anderson has released a statement condemning the attack of Wrythe and the rise of Declan I.
“I am deeply disappointed in this conclusion to the war. I would have liked to see a peaceful resolution to this conflict, instead of monarchs fooling around with the way things work.” the statement reads. “I am pleased to see that Austenasia still exists and hasn’t been dissolved and that Esmond maintains his status as co-Emperor, however. But due to this morning’s events in Austenasia, I must announce that despite no official diplomatic relations existing with them, we would like to see Esmond III in solo control of Austenasia once more.”
Starland and NottaLotta Acres have already announced their displeasure at the ascension of Declan I to the Austenasian throne, with support being given to Esmond III.

Their opinions are not motivated by morals, but because they seek attention. NottaLotta Acres has been meddling about with an anti-communist organisation and Starland is really the laughing stock of the intermicronational community after its many wars issued by their silly King Nik.
We will remain neutral on this issue, as Austenasia does not even recognise us and because we have absolutely nothing to do with it. We will not talk condemningly about the subject unless asked to. We simply don’t have a proper reason for that. And I think that’s something these micronation have to learn.
