2011 Elections postponed
Alston, NCD, Dec 29 – Premier Daniel Anderson has announced that the 2011 Provincial Elections will be postponed until further notice after a lack of activity from the Board of Ministers.
Elections were announced on December 10th, with the deadline for nominations being this Friday. Elections were due to be held the following week, finishing with the results presentation on January 9. However, due to nobody putting their names forward and a possible time problem, Anderson today announced that January’s elections were cancelled and would instead be held further into 2011. He also cited possible holidaying and a possible clash with the Christmas-New Year holidays as reasons why there had been a lack of activity on the elections front.
The dates of the 2011 elections have not been decided yet.
